The State Library will announce these special scholarship opportunities separately. If you have a question about the eligibility of a conference/learning opportunity, please contact us before applying for a scholarship.

More information can be found on our website.

For applicants requesting in-person attendance:

  • Conference registration costs (The Library of North Carolina will pay conference registration for scholarship recipients),
  • Travel expenses (flight, baggage fees, rental car, public transportation),
  • Hotel expenses (hotel for up to 4 nights -- check into hotel on September 16, check out of hotel on September 19).

Be aware that no purchases are allowed until all paperwork has been signed and submitted for each awardee. This scholarship is reimbursable through the awarded library.

For applicants requesting virtual-only attendance:

  • Virtual Conference registration fees (The Library of North Carolina will pay conference registration for scholarship recipients).

Determining factors in awarding, should available funding not allow for all eligible applications to be awarded, may include prior scholarship award in the previous year, number of applicants from the same library system, and presenting at the conference.
