TIPS ON USING SUBMITTABLE

  • You will need to create a free Submittable account using your email. 
  • You can save a draft of your work if you would like to finish filling out the form at a later date. There is an autosave feature, but you can also manually save your draft by clicking the button at the bottom of the form.
  • Submittable works best on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Internet Explorer is not supported. Please make sure you are using a supported browser.
  • We will follow up with you about your submission by email. Please be sure to safelist notification emails from Submittable and check the email you used to sign up for your Submittable Account regularly.

APPLICATION TIMELINES

Two weeks before each NC Public Librarian Certification Commission meeting, applications will be prepared for review. Applications received within this two-week window will be held and reviewed at the next quarterly meeting. Below are the application cut-off dates:

  • Commission Meeting Date: October 27, 2025; Application Cut-Off Date: October 13, 2025
  • Commission Meeting Date: January 9, 2026; Application Cut-Off Date: December 26, 2025
  • Commission Meeting Date: April 10, 2026; Application Cut-Off Date: March 27, 2026
  • Commission Meeting Date: July 10, 2026; Application Cut-Off Date: June 26, 2026

SUBMITTING OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Important: Transcripts scanned and emailed by the applicant are not considered official for NC Public Librarian Certification. Official transcripts must be sent directly from your university (hardcopy or electronic) or mailed as an original hardcopy. Electronic transcripts are preferred. All official transcripts must include the degree conferral date; transcripts without this date will not be accepted.

Military service members and their spouses may wish to review General Statute 93B-15.1.
